Service Commitment
Serving others is a way of life at Marymount. It’s
a constant source of joy, pride, personal growth... and good times. Help our university president clean up a senior center garden, ll care packages for wounded warriors, or assist with a Saints sport clinic for local children. Stock a food pantry along with faculty members and their families.
Are you a future therapist? Volunteer with us
at a Costa Rican orphanage. Plan to major in business? Work with us to help design plans for sustainable economies for Third World villages.
Our math and biology majors work together to plot statistical models of cholera epidemics.
First-year students not only heard about Marymount University’s commitment to service during their week-long orientation to college life, they put it into action at the annual campus- wide Saints Serve Day, packaging 10,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger, an international relief organization that distributes food and aid to the world’s most vulnerable people.
The Spirit of Service
The Spirit of Service Scholarship (SOS) is a $2,000/year renewable scholarship for fours years available to students with a record of high academic achievement and extensive volunteer service experience with school, church, or community organizations. SOS recipients are required to volunteer 60 hours per semester.
